D-Shaped Polarization Maintaining Fiber Sensor for Simultaneous Monitoring of Refractive Index and Temperature

Abstract

A D-shaped PMF as fiber optic sensor is presented for simultaneous monitoring of RI and surrounding temperature. Experimental results show that proposed sensor has high sensitivity of 0.03nm/RIU and 0.13nm/°C for RI and temperature respectively.
