Abstract

High-Q factor whispering gallery mode (WGM) optical sensor has shown the tremendous sensitivity from monitoring the resonance peak shift induced by submicron scale molecules. Here, we suggest the advanced techniques for enhancing the sensitivity by using the gold nanopost structures. The well fabricated nano-scale structure derives the coupling effect which localize a fraction of the WGM field at the edge of the binding sites and it’s estimated by the TEM based simulations.
