Abstract

We report highly-nonlinear ultra-thin metasurfaces based on coupling of modes in plasmonic nanoresonators with intersubband nonlinearities with phase-control of nonlinear optical response. Nonlinear susceptibility >106 pm/V and conversion efficiencies ~0.1% were measured for second-harmonic generation.
