Spin-dependent Gauge Fields in Atomic Gases

Abstract

Gauge fields -- ubiquitous in Physics -- can depend on "spin" degrees of freedom, and in materials these are often manifest as spin-orbit coupling. Here I present our work synthesizing SOC for ultracold neutral atoms.
