Cholesterol Crystals with Gold Nanoparticles: Photothermally Induced Effects

Abstract

Gold nanoparticles embedded in cholesterol crystals promote localized heating under intense light illumination at the surface plasmon resonance absorption band, allowing material displacement from their original position, showing potential applications in cardiology.
