Experimental demonstration of light-assisted templated self assembly using a photonic crystal slab

Abstract

We demonstrate a technique for using a photonic-crystal slab to assemble periodic arrays of particles. Particles are attracted to the slab due to resonantly enhanced optical forces at the wavelength of a guided resonance mode.
