Optomechanics with Subwavelength Grating Membranes Inside a Fabry-Perot Cavity

Abstract

We use silicon nitride subwavelength grating membranes in a “membrane-in-the-middle” setup. We investigate the optomechanical properties of this system and demonstrate radiation pressure cooling of the membrane.
