Room-Temperature Quantum Bit Memory Exceeding One Second

Abstract

We demonstrate high-fidelity control of a single 13C nuclear spin qubit in diamond with coherence lifetimes exceeding 1 second at room temperature, achieved via a dissipative decoupling of the spin from its local environment.
