Nonlinear Absorption in Multimode Waveguides

Abstract

The energy-dependent absorption of multimode waveguides with strongly nonlinear cores has been studied experimentally and numerically. The presence of a discrete set of waveguide modes is found to substantially lower the nonlinear threshold.
