Abstract
The photoluminescence dynamics of single CdSe/oligo-phenylene vinylene (CdSe-OPV) nanostructures are studied here at both the millisecond and nanosecond time scale to explore the effects of semiconducting ligands attached to a quantum dot surface. We compare the fluorescence intermittency probability distributions to well-characterized CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals. Additionally, we study the PL intensity dependence on pump intensity for single particles. Surprisingly, for even low pump intensities, we see strongly non-linear dependence. This provides further evidence for multiexcitonic character in these composite systems.
