Single Carbon Nanotube Photonics and the Role of Excitons

Abstract

Ultrafast optical measurements determined that Auger recombination in isolated single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) involves excitons and not free electrons, while Raman spectra of SWNTs under electrochemical bias allows for a determination of exciton binding energies.
