Optical Intensity Sensing and Limiting Using Nonlinear Photonic Crystals

Abstract

We demonstrate the using of 1D nonlinear photonic crystals to intensity sensing of high-power optical signals and for optical power limiting. The analytical expression for dependence of the reflectivity on the radiation intensity is presented.
