Surface-core fibers: plasmonics and sensing

Abstract

We investigated surface-core fibers as a platform for refractive index sensing using surface plasmon resonance. The high sensitivity (1380 nm/RIU), the increased robustness and easy preparation makes surface-core fibers a promising platform for sensing.
