Generation of attenuation and gain bands in a praseodymium ytterbium-thulium fibre optic system

Abstract

PrYb-doped fibre produced white light that passed thorough a spliced Tm-doped fibre that generated attenuation/gain bands when pumped with IR. A laser cavity formed in this way might be intra-cavity modulated to produce pulses.
