Abstract

Fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) are widely studied because of their properties to measure variables like temperature, strain, pressure among others. To make these measurements possible, it is necessary to detect the peak of the FBG spectrum. Many FBG peak detection algorithms have been developed ranging between simple maximum searches to complex perceptron neural networks. This work proposes a simple and efficient FBG peak detection algorithm.
