Innovative OSNR Monitoring Technique Employing HiBi Fibre Bragg Gratings for 10Gb.s−1 Passive Optical Networks

Abstract

An innovative method to monitor OSNR based on high birefringent fibre Bragg gratings is presented. It was analyzed for a 10 Gb.s−1 channel, showing a maximum error of 0.9 dB for an OSNR range up to 25 dB.
