Analysis of Experimental Production of Photonic Molecules of Sodium in a Magneto Optical Trap

Abstract

A experimental setup for the study of the sodium Na2+ molecule is presented. This molecular bond states are formed in the presence of light by photoassociation ionization (PAI). The pair of sodium atoms in the ground state absorbs two photons forming the photonic molecule.
