Reduction of Cross-Gain Modulation in a Fiber Optical Parametric Amplifier by Using All-Optical Gain Clamping

Abstract

We report reduction of cross gain modulation to less than 1 dB by using gain clamping in a fiber optical parametric amplifier. Power penalties were improved from 2.5 dB to 0.5 dB.
