Membranized Semiconductor Rib Waveguides for Acousto-optic Modulation Enhancement

Abstract

Membranized rib waveguides are proposed as an efficient way to increase acousto-optic modulation by up to four orders of magnitude compared to the traditional structures, opening up possibilities of constructing more compact and power-saving devices.
