A method to detect a thermal object in a 3D opaque medium for far-infrared light is proposed. The experimental equipment consists of a single thermal camera, a 2D linear stage and a heater. By heating the opaque object, thermal distribution dependent on the internal thermal object and surface shape is appeared. During heating the opaque object, some thermal perspective projection images are captured by parallel scanning. Tomographic images are reconstructed by analyzing the thermal perspective projection images. From the tomographic images, the surface shape and thermal radiation pattern on the surface are visualized. These information is used to estimate the 3D position of the internal object in future.
