Thermodynamic properties of a Nd:YAG-CO2 double pulse laser-induced plasma and its applications under stand-off conditions

Abstract

The effects of CO2 plasma reheating are presented under low-irradiance conditions typical of stand-off laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy. The mechanisms and possible applications of the technique for enhancing stand-off measurements are discussed.
