Investigation on the factors to influence terahertz absorption spectrum

Abstract

Terahertz radiation locates between the infrared and microwave region of the electromagnetic waves. Nowadays, new techniques in terahertz region came out continuously and impelled this “almost unexplored” field emerging in our life. As a novel coherent technique providing a new insight into the structural characteristics and mechanism of the spectral responses in molecular level, terahertz time-domain spectroscopy, based on ultra-short pulse laser, plays a very important role with many important applications, such as nondestructive evaluation, material characterization, on-line quality control, pharmacy, security, petrochemical, atmospheric sensing, and so on.
