Abstract
Holographic data storage is going to commercialize and many of its applications are expanding. Collinear holographic data storage will become a good candidate for Big Data recording solution, because of there are not only large storage capacities and high transfer rates, but also the unique configuration. In this paper, we introduce the principle of the collinear holography, media structures of the optical disc, and some methods to increase the recording density and data transfer rates using phase modulated page data format. Some results of experimental and theoretical studies suggest that they are very effective methods.
