Abstract

We succeeded in storing 50GB or more digital data within one layer of an optical disc by improving the performance of the material system in our recording stack of BDXL™ and by introducing signal processing techniques. We drew conclusion that it would be possible to produce a new optical disc with 200GB or more capacity based on the current mass-producing facilities and the electric devices for BDXL™.
