Proposal for Rewritable Microholographic Recording Using Polarization-Sensitive Materials

Abstract

Rewritable microholographic recording using polarization-sensitive materials, in which polarization directions of a beam are recorded, is proposed. Polarization states for beams in the medium are switched with switchable waveplates. Recording and readout principles are explained.
