The Proton Beam Imaging System Design for the Spallation Neutron Source Tungsten Target

Abstract

A periscope based remote imaging system has been developed to for an in-situ viewing of high-energy proton beams on the rotating tungsten target in harsh radiation environment at the Spallation Neutron Source. The optical system design and the performance of a prototype system will be presented.
