Bogoliubov Excitations of Inhomogeneous Polariton Condensate

Abstract

We theoretically obtain the steady-state density and velocity profiles of polariton condensate in a non-equilibrium system with a defect trap. Through the Bogoliubov excitations on the steady states of the mean field complex Gross-Pitaevskii equation, the stability of the condensate is justified by the complex eigenvalues varying with the optical pump scheme. Bifurcation of the oscillatory stable, instability stable, and dynamical instability modes are therefore indicated in the pump spot and strength phase diagram to be accessible experimentally.
