Pulsed laser ignition thresholds of energetic multilayer foils

Abstract

Ignition thresholds for energetic multilayer foils comprised of aluminum (Al) and platinum (Pt) layers are presented as a function of foil properties for laser pulse durations of 100 femtosecond (fs) and 30 nanosecond (ns).
