Yb-doped rod-type photonic crystal fibers for single-mode amplification

Abstract

The competition among the guided modes in rod-type photonic crystal fibers with a low refractive index ring in the Yb-doped core is investigated with an amplifier model to demonstrate the effective higher-order mode suppression.
