Abstract

The basic system of cavity quantum electrodynmics is a single emitter coupled to the mode of a photonic cavity. Achieving this in the solid state is a promising route towards the realization of quantum information tasks. Here we study a single InAs/GaAs self-assembled quantum dot (QD) in strong coupling with the fundamental mode of a photonic crystal (PC) defect cavity. (QD AFM topography shown in figure a.) We show the quantum nature of the system by observing quantum correlations in photoluminescence, which validates the applicability of this system for quantum information.
