Delta-kick cooling using the Ioffe-Pritchard potential

Abstract

We developed the delta-kick cooling to three dimensions using the Ioffe-Pritchard potential. The alternating oscillation of atomic momentum and size was observed. This phenomenon implies that the elongated atomic distribution was rotating in phase space.
