High-contrast, high-energy, multipass amplifier

Abstract

We present a multipass amplifier that operates with low gain, large mode volume, high temporal contrast (>109) and high beam quality (1.25x diffraction limit). We have implemented the design with Ti:sapphire at 10Hz and 1kHz.
