Zero-Field Magnetization of A Single CdMnTe Quantum Dot Studied by Spatially-Resolved Photoluminescence

Abstract

We use a solid immersion lens to study single magnetic dots with a spatial resolution of 200 nm. The results demonstrate that Mn ions in a single dot can be aligned by optical excitation. This alignment is observed only for the dots resonantly populated via LO phonons.
