Conditional preparation of a quantum state in the continuous variable regime: experimental generation of non classical states from twin beams

Abstract

We report the first experimental demonstration of conditional preparation in the continuous variable regime. Starting from intensity quantum correlated "twin beams" generated by an OPO, we obtain a sub-poissonian state displaying 4.5 dB noise reduction.
