Abstract

The manipulation of the magnetization in ferromagnetic materials using optical pulses offers new perspectives for developing magneto-optical devices. We review recent advances in this field including: ultrafast demagnetization, optically induced ferromagnetic resonance, dynamics of super-paramagnets.
