Abstract
Recently, there has been an increasing interest in π-conjugated polymers because of their promising applications in optoelectronic devices such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Whereas LEDs with tunable, bright, and durable emission are close to being commercial, the new target is the construction of a plastic laser. It was found that polymers can display a dramatic line narrowing of the emission spectrum under high excitation. Amplified spontaneous emission (ASE), superfluorescence, superradiance, and exciton condensation are among the proposed explanations.1–4
