Abstract

If a DC voltage is applied to a semiconductor superlattice, the arising current may oscillate (Bloch oscillations).1,2 Here we report on an optical analog to these Bloch oscillations that reveals special features of the transition from a quasi-continuous model to effects owing to the very discreteness.
