Abstract

Influence of the fibre birefringence on the soliton propagation attract much attention at present (see, eg [1]). One of the most important results is the invention of the polarisation mode-locked soliton fibre laser [1,2]. Having simple ring configuration, such lasers are capable to generate stable trains of bandwidth-limited pulses in wide range of durations.
