Abstract

There is wide interest in soliton generation in mode-locked lasers (see, eg [1]). Several types of passively mode-locked lasers are under development. In particular, fibre lasers provide high repetition rate and are attractive for optical communications [2], while the Ti:Sapphire lasers can achieve pusles as short as 10 fs directly from the cavity [3]. However, the dynamics and stability of mode- locked lasers are still far from being completely understood.
