Abstract
J-aggregates of cyanine dyes are attracting interest of many scientists because of a large optical nonlinearities associated with a sharp resonance of excitonic transition. Despite a large amount of spectroscopic experiments, most of them have been explained by a simple model of one-dimensional chain of the constituent dye molecules, and detailed structure of J-aggregates have not yet been well discussed.
