Abstract

Ionic excimers have been proposed as laser media in the Vacuum Ultra Violet (VUV) spectral range [1,2]. Fluorescence emissions have been generated from these molecules by use of electron beam [3,4], ion beam [5], X-rays photoionisation from laser produced plasma [6] and electrical discharge excitation [7], We developed an experimental setup to perform spectroscopic and kinetic studies of these species. This device allows to use electron beam as well a electrical discharge for the excitation of high temperature and high pressure of alkali rare gas mixtures. In this paper we report on the investigation of the VUV transitions of the (XeCs)+ ions.
