Abstract

This presentation reports first results on the discovery of sub-Joule threshold room-temperature stimulated emission at 1.07 μm wavelength of the 1D2→3F4 intermanifold transition of Pr3+ ions in monoclinic KY (WO4)2 and KGd(WO4)2 crystals. Laser-diode pump in the red (3H4→1D2) is available too.
