Abstract

Layering of optical networks into several network planes is considered as an enabling strategy for flexible networking [1], An all-optical TDM- WDM signal-format translator [2] will allow efficient interfacing between high-speed network layers and thus add transparency as well as higher switching granularity to the optical network part.
