Abstract
A chaotic system shows a variety of oscillation patterns even in a low-dimensional system, although we can not realise a particular pattern intentionally in a real system because of its sensitive dependence on the initial conditions and external noises. However, if one can convert a chaotic behavior into desired behaviors intrinsic to the system [1,2], a chaotic system can be used as a signal generator that can be programmed to produce varieties of oscillation patterns. Such a device has a potential applicability especially in communications.
