Chemical and solvent dynamics studied by photon echoes

Open Access Open Access

Femtosecond photon echoes on molecular and J-aggregate transitions in solution are reported. The aggregate dynamics are shown to be much slower than the corresponding molecular dynamics. This effect is interpreted in terms of motional narrowing.
