Abstract

By microwave (2.450-GHz) excitation of highly pure oxygen to generate O2(1Δg) dimers, two spectral bands of the O2(2Δg) dimer were observed. The peak wavelengths of these two bands are 656.5 and 486.0 nm, respectively. By using the method of amplified spontaneous emission, net gams of 1.8 and 0.9% cm-2 were obtained at 656.5 and 486.0 nm, respectively.
