Abstract

The time resolution of streak cameras has been limited to approximately 1 picosecond for many years. Consequently, with the march of femtosecond laser technology to the 10 femtosecond range, nonlinear techniques —particularly autocorrelation—has become the primary way of measuring rapid events.
