Abstract
Macroscopic quantum superpositions ate of considerable importance in the study of the interface between quantum and classical physics. A major problem in their generation is that macroscopic objects are not isolated but are coupled to their environment, which typically causes quantum coherences to be destroyed on a very fast time scale.
