Abstract
In semiconductors, static disorder can produce tails at both the valence and conduction band edges. Anderson localization will then lead to localized one-electron states in these tails. A clear-cut experimental demonstration of the existence of localized electronic states within the band-tails using transport measurements is, however, usually not feasible.
