Abstract

Using a pulsed tunable dye laser (with an H2 Raman cell) pumped by a Q-switched YAG laser, the frequency dependence of second harmonic generation in reflection has been measured in the exciton region (8000-9000 Å) of a GaAs/Al0.3Ga0.7As multiple quantum well (MQW) at room temperature. This measurement was simultaneously calibrated with respect to the second harmonic beam generated in a reference Z-cut quartz platelet.
